IFF Global Green Finance Award is open for applications

The International Finance Forum (IFF) opened applications for the fifth IFF Global Finance Awards on May 15.
The IFF Global Green Finance Award includes the Annual Award and the Innovation Award, each of which will be bestowed on 10 recipients. The Award aims to recognize and reward global organizations and institutions that help promote global green transition, environmental governance, emission reduction, climate adaptation and sustainable development.
The Award is open for submissions from entities working in areas such as green policy design, strategies for green transition, green financial service and technology innovations. The submission deadline is September 15.
The 12-strong jury of the Award is chaired by IFF Co-Chair Han Seung-soo, President of the fifty-sixth session of the Untied Nations General Assembly. IFF board member, former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jenny Shipley and IFF Vice Chair, former director of the UN Environment Erik Solheim serve as co-chair of the Jury.
“We are very pleased to award this prize to those who have come up with innovative ideas that could help build our society climate-resilient and ecologically sound,” said Han.
Established in 2020, the Award recognizes the efforts by institutions to cut carbon emission and direct funds and investment towards sustainable development projects to promote sustainable development practices.
The 12 jury members are current and former world leaders, executives of the world-leading financial institutions and representatives of leading international environmental organisations. The final results of the award will be announced at the awards ceremony during the IFF Annual Meeting in November.
Last year’s winners of the Annual Award include Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer Midea Group, Ant Group, global insurer AXA, Singaporean conglomerate Keppel Corporation etc. The Innovation Award was taken home by organizations including CITICS, Deeprock Net-Zero Technology and Vanke Foundation, Suzhou Rural Commercial Bank and GIZ, PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian, China Construction Bank and CGS International and Bank of Communications
