SRIA launches Belt and Road International Cooperation Award

The Silk Road International Association (SRIA) launched the Belt and Road International Cooperation Award on May 30 to reward organizations and initiatives that have advanced international collaboration, improved global governance and promoted sustainable development under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The Award is open for submission from May 30 until September 15, 2024. A high-level panel of judges will select 10 winners from the finalists. The Belt and Road International Cooperation Award Ceremony will take place on November 24 in Guangzhou during the SRIA Summit.
The Award calls for submission from international community which have practiced and implemented the BRI’s five priorities, i.e. policy connectivity, infrastructure connectivity, trade connectivity, financial connectivity and people-to-people connectivity. Under the Silk Road spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit, the selection process will be focused on the connectivity in multiple fields the entities have forged in recent years.
“The Belt and Road International Cooperation Award is an excellent opportunity to recognize organizations and enterprises which have made tremendous contribution to international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. More importantly, I believe it will encourage the international community to do more to enhance connectivity on multiple fronts,” said IFF Co-Chair and President of the Jury Han Seung-soo.
IFF board member, former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jenny Shipley and IFF Vice Chair, former director of the UN Environment Erik Solheim serve as co-chair of the Jury.
Established in 2016 during the International Finance Forum Annual Meeting, the SRIA strives to enhance non-governmental collaboration and dialogue as well as promote prosperity of BRI countries. Since then, it has held seven SRIA Summit that have promoted dialogues and cooperation among the BRI countries.
The BRI was first proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013. Guided by the principle of extensive consultation, joint development and shared benefits, the BRI aims to synergize development strategies of various countries, strengthen international cooperation for shared prosperity in Asia, Europe, and beyond, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.
