The International Finance Forum (IFF) is excited to announce the launch of a groundbreaking initiative: the Global AI Competitiveness Index. This comprehensive study aims to assess and benchmark AI capabilities across the globe.

At a recent meeting hosted by IFF Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Xin, AI experts gathered to discuss the index's framework. Attendees included AI Committee Coordinator Patrick Glauner, a professor of AI at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, IFF data analyst Zhou Jian, and Dmitry Kaminskiy, co-founder of Deep Knowledge Group, a consortium focused on DeepTech and frontier technologies.

The Global AI Competitiveness Index will analyze a range of indicators, including the volume of AI research papers and patents, the number of AI startups, the availability of specialized talent, government support, market acceptance, and infrastructure. By evaluating these factors, the index will identify the AI strengths of various countries and regions.

Kaminskiy emphasized the importance of including non-English speaking countries, such as Turkey, in the index. "These regions are often overlooked in AI research, yet they have significant contributions to make," he noted.

The study will also explore predictive measures, such as each country's quantum computing capabilities and the focus of businesses on AI adoption. "Understanding how much focus companies put on AI is crucial, as this trend is likely to accelerate," Kaminskiy added.

“This will be an important contribution to the AI community,” Glauner said.

"This index will be a valuable resource for stakeholders worldwide," said Zhou Xin. "It represents the IFF's commitment to fostering a collaborative approach to AI development across all sectors of society."
